Chupacabra
What is the Chupacabra?
The Chupacabra is a legendary creature from Latin American folklore, often described as a blood-sucking monster that preys on livestock, especially goats. Its name means “goat-sucker” in Spanish (chupa = suck, cabra = goat).
Descriptions of the Chupacabra vary, but there are two main versions:
A reptilian creature with spiky spines along its back, glowing red eyes, and sharp claws.
A hairless, dog-like creature with grayish skin, fangs, and a pronounced spine.
Reports of Chupacabra attacks typically involve animals found drained of blood with mysterious puncture wounds. While many sightings have been debunked as misidentified animals (like diseased coyotes), the Chupacabra remains one of the most famous cryptids in modern folklore.
